Why is Bile so Important?

The term “bile” has had an important relation to one’s health for over 2,000 years. Notably, as part of the four Humors of Hippocrates Medicine: black bile, yellow bile, phlegm, and blood. If any of these humors were out of balance with one another, then disease ensued. Today, bile represents the power of one’s digestion.
1-1.5 quarts of bile has to be produced by the liver each day to maintain a strong and healthy digestive system. Because 60% of our immune system is located in our intestines, one can imagine the consequences that occur when this is compromised. Anything less than this amount, will cause dysbiosis, indigestion, constipation, heartburn, and impaired detoxification of the body.
Most of my patients (who tend to be Slow Oxidizers), will have low bile flow. Only when they have a balanced oxidation rate, will their bile come up to speed. Until then, it is of utmost importance for them to receive the supplement GB-3. Impaired digestion will always lead to impaired health.
